Denmark will be wearing special non-branded kits at the World Cup in Qatar as a form of protest against the hosts and their human rights record.

Hummel, the kit manufacturers, said this about the jerseys via Instagram:

“…we’ve toned down all the details for Denmark’s new World Cup jerseys, including our logo and iconic chevrons. We don’t wish to be visible during a tournament that has cost thousands of people their lives.”

But the Qatar Supreme Committee – the team responsible for putting together this tournament – have refuted the claims that thousands of workers died. They also accused Hummel of trivializing Qatar’s genuine commitment toward worker safety.

What do you think about this, though? Good from Denmark?

  1. Denmark is just playing a typical western play card… denmark see different value, denmark boycott/sanction/ban them. No wonder there is no closure on other matters such as iraq conflict, afghan conflict, syria conflict, palestine conflict, russia conflict.. all confrontation and no compromise

  2. Bunch of hypocrites. You ain't gonna win anything in the first place so if you like play naked that your cup of tea. How many thousands of workers have died bloody liars. Europeans can stay away, the world is full of better people that racist europens . We will enjoy the world Cup without racist Europe. Its better that way

  3. Denmark played in Isreal, they are protesting couple thousand death throughout 12 years and I know it is very unfortunate but the same number happens everyday in Palestine imagine 3 to 5 thousands deaths per day FUCKING HYPOCRISY
