Trent is not a midfielder. A great player but hasn’t the engine needed in that position. He can play cross passes yes but we needed to impose & push the serbs back. He kept falling back too deep. Big improvement when Gallagher came on and we started to push them back. In form Palmer should be on. Foden was lost.

How could he not see that Foden was completely ineffective? Gordon was on the bench and a natural alternative. Southgate has proven time and time again that he cannot make proactive substitutions when things aren't going right.
