7 Recent Wonderkids You’ve Surely Forgotten About
Plenty of young players emerge in football every year and some of them are always heralded as the future of the game or of a team. For every one young player who lives up to those expectations, there are almost 10 who fall by the wayside. Here are 7 recent wonder kids who seem to have already been forgotten.
Remember when everyone proclaimed that Ansu Fati was going to be the next Messi. He stormed into the Barcelona team as young as 16 and began making his mark even being handed the 10 jersey once the Argentine left. Once Xavi arrived, things began to change as the Spaniard found himself on the bench more often than not and he and his agent grew very frustrated. After a conversation with Xavi last summer, he saw it fit to leave and Brighton were more than happy to take him on loan. He failed to make much of a mark though as in 19 premier league games, he only scored twice; surely the Seagulls expected more. Still just 21, he may yet regain his former hype but only time will tell.

riuqui puig is somebody I forgot about he broke into the barca squad and I thought he would be the next xavi but now he plays in the major soccer league for Los angles
Fabio carvalho
I feel like being called "The Next [INSERT POPULAR PLAYER] ends up cursing the person's career. The only person I've seen breaking this curse is Messi when he was called the next Maradona
Vinicius Junior was never a wonder kid and has zero football skills. Useless guy
Wow 3 of these players are Brighton players rn as a Brighton fan that’s weird to me
Ansu fati shouldn't have gone to brighton 🙀
Ansu Fati and Moise Kean still have a chance imo, if Fati just stops getting injured and if Kean just stops getting loaned out everywhere but Muokoko without a doubt will do good the guy just had a different playing style than his manager so once he gets used to it he'll do good again
I love Gio Reyna, he always balls out for the us, and is the biggest American talent oat, he’s just struggled this season and always has struggled with injuries
Remember deli alli. After the injury he was never the same. I miss those days😢
You forgot 1 player I will tell you oh sorry I forgot
Billy Gilmour:
✅ Crucial part of Brighton’s midfield
✅ Dictate build up play from back
✅ Played in Europa this season
✅ Call up for Scotland
✅ He’s only 23
Hardly a discarded footballer everyone has forgotten about
Next season Ansu Fati will shine under Flick
I always enjoyed Reyna. Sad to see him fall off since in his Dortmund days he was a serious baller. Just a likable player. And I would not say anyone forgot about Gonçalo Ramos because he is not receiving the same hype be he is still a big name and deservedly so. I have seen him play for PSG and he has been preforming top class.
I dont think people forgot about fati tho
Billy gilmour still has the potential to become a great player for a big club I think he need to leave England first
Being called "The next Messi" guarantees the player will end up being "The next Freddy Adu".
Is someone gonna tell him about Mokoko😅
I think you left Ilaix moriba eho was at Leipzig after leaving barça now he is at getafe
I never forget about fati or Reyna I think they will both rise up to the top and prove thier haters wrong
Moukoko reyna and fati still hav e potential
