Who is Jesse Marsch?

The Austrian Bundesliga is developing a reputation for producing excellent coaches. With Red Bull Salzburg leading the way. But who is this American Coach that shares the same values as Ralf Rangnick? How do his teams play? What do the fans think of him?

Alex Stewart writes, Joe Lally illustrates.

  1. He'll likely be sacked in the morning and good riddance.

EDIT – 2 months later he's still at Leeds and still can't get consistency from the players. If any MLS club owners are reading this, please take the dozy buggar back…

EDIT – he's finally been sacked. Thank Goodness

  2. This gets glossed over a bit but 7th in the eastern conference is garbage (but is natural for an expansion team in American sports). That combined with being removed for three years from coaching, plus replacing an already liked and winning coach in Mike Petke for New York, meant he came in with no backing from the fans and possibly even some players. He turned everything and everyone’s view around

  3. When he got to RBNY He had a similar reception. He has a knack for proving his worth on the pitch. I wish him the best but wish Red Bull valued NY even a fraction of how much the value the other teams. NY is a glorified weight station and at times feeder club.
