Jose Mourinho has been enormously popular at Roma. His Serie A form had been less than ideal, but he had brought the club a European trophy. Yet his sacking in January 2024, amongst Roma fans came as a surprise.

To the outside world, a Mourinho sacking is part of the Portuguese’s legacy. But that wasn’t expected to happen at Roma.

How had he formed such a bond? And why was he dismissed in the end?

  1. what are you guys actually talking about? their investment has failed to produce a title challenge? what investment? not one of the last 5 years even before jose has roma had a top 4 squad in italy. youre as delusional as the owners. you lost to AC milan not because of jose you lost becaust youre supposed o lose. they ahve sold more than bought the last 2 years while with jose. football is a business its a very simple business. madrid wins because madrid spends, madrid doesnt win because they dont have jose mourinho. this is filler content DO BETTER

  2. Mourinho has a clause in his contract that says " he must be fired before his contract is up " – so far he's collected 80 million pounds in severance pay from Chelsea x 2, Man U, Tottenham, Real Madrid, etc and needs to keep his record intact to be known as " the $$$pecial One ".

  3. As a Roma fan… That missed handball penalty in the UEL final was the cause. Qualifying for the UCL would have given Roma a needed boost to the budget and attracted players during the summer, I really liked Mou and will always be glad for bringing that first European trophy in 2022 (ending a painful 14 year drought of any trophy). This is the first time I hear about how the gvt ended the tax break on coaches and players and now it all makes sense.

  4. Jose should really consider rangers or celtics. He knows how to work with physical British style players and he's management and tactics are ideal for those teams. Being the biggest team in Scotland, it also allows him to concentrate more on the champions league.

  5. The thing about Jose that some people don't understand is that despite his shortcomings he did something for many clubs that can't be described by trophies. This is why many fans will stick by him.

The Real Madrid of the 5 champions leagues doesn't exist without Jose coming in and recovering the winner mentality that the club had lost.

  6. Bro Roma owners they don't know eny thing about football instead of buying new good quality playes they fired mourinho…! He only manager after alot of the years win tittle for Roma

I think Roma owner like Manchester united owres they have no idea what is mean football

First thing first you must buy star players alywes alywes and alywes non stop for club like Roma…
