Camisetas MUNDIAL RUSIA 2018
Soccer in the U.S. has not always had the best track record. Its popularity wavers and interest is usually tied to significant events, such as the World Cup or the Olympics. Major League Soccer has spent over 25-years trying to change soccer’s sentiment in the U.S. while competing with more fast-paced, high-scoring sports like the NFL and the NBA.

Over the last ten years, the MLS has become increasingly popular. The league garnered the attention of top talent, brought in significant investments, and generated a massive presence on social media. However, before the MLS can overtake the MLB soon, the league needs to dominate one crucial area: television viewership.

  1. Eu como brasileiro vou ensinar os norte-americanos a gostarem de futebol ⚽ em 7 passos.

Primeiro: você precisa entender todas as regras do jogo.

  2. Relegation without relegation.

    1. MLS future: 40 teams divided into 2 levels. Top level 20 teams and lower level ' dog house ' 20 teams , only 1 conference.

    2. Every half of the season the bottom 10 teams from top would be ralegated the dog house and the top 10 teams from te dog house would be promoted to the top level. And the next year season will be the teams will start from the places that they ended previous season.

    3. Each team will play 38 games , no playoffs! Beacouse the entire seasson will be like playoffs. Champion of the fall will play champion of spring in MLS cup. The season will start in july /august and end in may/june. In this way we can streach the season more if teams from colder locations start hosting later and stop hosting earlier. Mls cup will be in june.

    4. in this system MLS clubs will play total 15% more games than before. It does not make sanse that half of the teams end season sooner than the rest.

    5. It would be a nice compromise between relegation/promotion and the current system of far niente were many players love to finish the season sooner!

    6. There are would be no safe middle of the table place , it will be easy to be relegated and easy to be promoted.

    7. The revenue would be divided between franchises the same way as before so the teams in the dog house would no suffer financially.

    8. This system would create a lot of excitments all year long.

  3. Whats up with all the tacky soccer team names? Is it like a soccer thing? Kansas city sporting? Like they are embarrassed to be playing soccer? Dc united what? Sounds like they forgot to finish naming the team. Why is it inter miami like theres no other miami team. Should the dolphins be the intermiami dolphins?

  4. the winning formula is getting the best futbol player/s in the world to play and promote the league and it's local talents or players. once the audience get to see these amazing players perform and how the sport is played, it would garner interests. most audience are ignorant of the sport and haven't seen how the game is enjoyed and played. I prefer futbol more now compared to baseball and ice hockey which I used to watch.

  5. it's no wonder that MLS will become a massive sport in the US because every state is wide and this country has the best sports facilities in the world it's very easy to grow football in the US, it is not impossible if the US will be able to beat the English premier league

  6. The problem the US will continue to have is lack of tradition. There are over 90 professional clubs in the English football league pyramid with the Premier League sat above another 3 divisions. A club can be promoted or relegated between the four divisions and clubs in the bottom division can be further relegated to a professional/semi pro non league division, beneath which there are division after division of semi pro or amateur leagues. Promotion and relegation has no restrictions. And this in in England; Scotland has its own professional pyramid. Then there are thousands of county Saturday and Sunday teams playing in county league controlled by the English F.A.
The US has no such structure and is building from the top down. There is not the same means for kids to play at different levels leading up to the pro game. When you consider a youngster in England could be signed by circa 120 professional clubs within a nation that could fit inside of Florida then how difficult will it be to nurture talent in a nation as large as the US with how many pro clubs? The US needs to look at how to expand grass roots football and structure below the MLS to nurture talent or it will always be a circus spending big money to top up European stars' pension funds.
