  1. Jordan is NOT a huge brand due to its roots in basketball culture. It's huge due to its roots in Black American culture…which drives global popular culture (i.e., fashion, music, social media, etc.).

  2. While I respect LBJ and LFC, this type of video fails to distinguish between sport success and commercial success; somehow confusing the two. PSG and LFC are literally and figuratively leagues apart. PSG have no history of European success in football. Like Manchester City and Chelsea, among others, they are teams which simply won the ownership lottery without even buying a ticket. Liverpool, on the other hand, have built, lost and rebuilt silverware winning sides and represent the values of a city and peoples that have had to fight for everything they’ve got. What does PSG stand for? At least LeBron understands “the long term view”.

  3. This is a long-term deal and a very smart use of influencers in sports marketing.

    THE LOGIC:
Leverage star power to increase the appeal and drive merchandise sales for Liverpool FC.

Like Jordan, LeBron has a following scalped from Basket Ball fans and the general public across the globe mainly through digital platforms and social media.

This is the target market of Sports Marketers who want to appeal to the diverse demographics of people that athletes influence.

    SMART MOVE

  4. First of PSG didnt get big on an international level thanks to Jordan or Nike. They got big thanks to the millions the arabs pump into that failed project every year since they took over. Secondly no one outside of US care about Lebron James so saying he has global appeal is a stretch. Pretty sure no one in the US is playing football unless its with your hands.

  5. Sorry to burst the bubble but as an NBA fan they will not bring a team to Vegas. There are two main reasons for this. One Seattle is a way better choice their are fans from the supersonic days who still beg for a NBA team. Two the last time that the NBA came to Vegas for an all-star game it went terrabily. So Seattle is the smarter choice as it allows them to tap into that market and it boost reputation the NBA listening to its fans instead money means that people are more likley to be forgiving.
