  1. Soccer teams exchange jerseys because it started with the Romans around the time when sports were created. Teams used to play each other for their shirt or upper garment. The losing team was required to give their jerseys or shirts over to the winning team as a sign of respect for a higher power/team. The tradition stuck, but later was converted to a trade because it would give each team or party involved something to take a way from the battle. You should do a little research 1st, it helps.
